How to update your computer (Windows)

With Windows, computer updates are constantly available. While you do not need to check for updates everyday, we do suggest that you check for updates at least once a month. Below is how to do this.

1. Click on the Windows logo or the Windows search bar.

2. Type Updates

3. Click on Check for updates

4. Click on the Check for updates button as shown below

5. It will either show you that you’re up to date or it will show you a some updates that need to be done.

6. You should also click the “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update” to see if there are any updates there. It will also then show you updates or it will still say that you are up to date.

7. There will also sometimes be another section or an option that looks like the “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update” option that shows up that will be for optional updates. We strongly recommend that you download and install these as well.

8. Wait for them to all disappear or say that it is waiting for a restart and then restart your computer if it needs it.
